Dr. Walden is a highly experienced cosmetic surgeon with over 21 years of experience. But while many experienced doctors share their experience exclusively within their own medical circles, Dr. Walden has shared her knowledge with the public through her various media appearances. In the media, Dr. Walden has contributed her knowledge and expertise in various publications and news outlets.
In 2008, Dr. Walden was featured in an article on ABC News, where she discussed plastic surgery ethics. Dr. Walden brought up the stresses that aging actors go through, and the perceived need to keep up with their younger counterparts through cosmetic surgery. She mentioned how one’s judgement will take a back seat compared to the fear of losing their career with age. She also brought up how some patients have body dysmorphic disorder, causing some patients to seek out plastic surgery like a junkie. “And with every junkie patient, there’s a doctor out there who might not be practicing within the bounds of ethics to do yet another procedure.” Walden explained. “But it’s a cash-driven business, so doctors will do the surgery.”
In 2010, Dr. Jennifer Walden provided commentary on the complications of overly large breast implants. Sheyla Hershey held the record for “World’s Largest Breasts.” Her breast size was 38KKK. But after she got a staph infection in both breasts following another breast augmentation, she was hospitalized. Dr. Walden explained that with each breast containing more than a gallon each of silicone, complications were not unexpected. Dr. Walden also explained that if implants are too big, the body becomes unable to support massive tissue stretch. On September 15, 2010, Sheyla Hershey had her breast implants as well as most of her natural breast removed.
Dr. Jennifer Walden has also been a regular contributor for Texas Super Doctors. She has been published in Texas Super Doctors in 2014, 2015, and 2016.
