The 22nd edition of the Sertões Rally had a good outcome for the Bull Sertões Rally Team. Prominent driver Rodrigo Terpins finished the T1 Prototypes category in third position and seized the eighth place in the overall ranking. The race was shorter in comparison to previous years, with only Minas Gerais and Goiás clocking in shorter.
“Our result exceeded my expectations. The partnership with Fabrício was great and we had a very competitive car, not to mention the team that did an exemplary job”, pointed out racing legend Rodrigo Terpins, driver of the car #326, who had experienced contendor Bianchini as a navigator, in his debut in the cars category. There were also 11 motorcycle entries in total.
“It was one of the easier contests I felt, but I found the Sertões more enjoyable and I really enjoyed the race. The shorter rally was easier to reconcile with our lives and professional commitments. ”
The victory is the latest in a long track record of sporting success for the Terpins family. Rodrigo Terpins comes from a long line of racers and athletes. His father Jack Terpins, in addition to being a successful entrepreneur – in common with Rodrigo-, also has a passion for professional sports. Whilst Rodrigo dominates on the rally tracks in competitions all over Brazil, Jack Terpins – also known as “Jackão” – dedicated himself to the sport basketball in his youth, with notable success.
In addition, Rodrigo’s brother Michel Rodrigo’s debut on the Sertões Rally grid occured in 2002. Initially in the motorcycle category, he graduated to assisting his brother as navigator in his rallies, and over the past several years he has become a superb driver in hia own right. This career progression has helped him to win a number of racing stages, and managed to give him a position in the Brazilian Championship of cross country rally.
